Four Funds US$21,000
Love Fund: Joyce Ajlouny, Ramallah
US$5,000
The Love Fund was established in 1914 and is used in this year's budget to
support Joyce Anjlouny in her work with the Friends Schools in Ramallah.
Faith Fund: Eden Grace, Kenya
US$5,000
The Faith Fund was established in 1925 and will be used to support Eden
Grace as she continues her ministry in Kenya.
Hope Fund: Mike and Kay Cain, Belize
US$5,000
The Hope Fund was established in 1928 and in this year's budget will be
used to support Mike and Kay Cain as they continue to minister to the
young men of Friends Boys School in Belize.
Joy Fund: ACFIA Women Workers US$6,000
The Joy Fund was established in 1935 and in this year's budget will be
used to support ACFIA women workers, Khrysi Wall, Brenda White and
Christina Wood.
Children and Youth US$7,000
Jamaica - Library Books and Materials
for Swift-Purscell Boys Home US$4,000
A fire in October 2007 destroyed the Great House and all the library books
and encyclopedias for the 80 boys (ages 7-18) who live at Swift-Purscell.
This project would help rebuild the library and maybe buy a computer to be
used for school work.
Belize Boy's School Scholarship Fund
US$3,000
Many of the students struggle to pay for the school uniforms and the
tuition costs. Money for scholarship will help several boys attend
the Boys School and have a second chance to pass the entrance exams for
high school.
United Thank Offering US$6,000
Jody and Ben Richmond, Kenya US$3,000
Ben and Jody are providing interim leadership for Friends Theological
College while FTC seeks a new principal, following the return of the
Nugent-Rehard family to the United States in 2007.
Sadie Vernon, Retirement Fund US$3,000
Sadie gave many years of loving, faithful service in Jamaica and Belize.
Keys to the Kingdom US$12,500
Kasimbi Feeding Programme US$2,000
The Kasimbi Feeding Programme is an exciting new program initiated by the
women of Kasimbi Friends. These women have taken on the challenge of
providing a Saturday meal for orphans in the Kibera slums of Nairobi.
Triennial Travel US$5,000
The Triennial Travel fund has historically been used to help offset the
cost of Triennial travel for overseas USFW Yearly Meeting
Presidents/Presiding Clerks. Be mindful of the fact that the 2010
Triennial will be in KENYA!
Advocate Subsidy US$2,000
The Advocate Subsidy is an essential tool for the Advocate Subscription
Manager. These funds are used to offset the cost of overseas
mailing, as well as the cost of ensuring that each of the USFW YM
Presidents/Presiding Clerks receive an up-to-date copy.
Lyndale Girls Dorm Renovation and
Computer US$3,500
The Lyndale Girls' Home in Jamaica remains in need of dorm renovations.
In addition, they need a computer. The computer will aid the girls
with their homework assignments, providing them with a more complete
education.
Christian Service US$9,500
Feeding Program
in Belize US$1,500
This may be the best meal of the day for these boys.
Kaimosi Hospital Adopt-A-Nurse and
Medicine US$4,000
The project will provide much needed medicine and help pay a nurse's
salary.
Turkana/Samburu Missions Support
US$4,000
These missions minister to the people in a drought-stricken area of Kenya.
Peace and Christian Social Concerns
US$6,000
Jamaica - Lyndale/Swift-Purscell
Scholarships US$3,000
Education is the key to providing a future for these children.
Ramallah - Eli and Sybil Jones
Scholarships US$3,000
In the difficult economic situation for many families, scholarships are
much needed in order for children to receive an education.
